Corte Madera District and Curriculum
The schools in Corte Madera use the California Content and Core Curriculum Standards as the basis for the educational plan for students K-12. - Sea-Disc Environmental Academy - The Sea-Disc Environmental Academy at Sir Francis Drake High School is a two-year program for juniors and seniors that provides a small school environment in which to take on rigorous coursework in Environmental Science. Students are required to conduct projects during their two years and they take many field trips and conduct learning in the outdoors. Students are expected to have a strong foundation in Math and Science to enter this Academy.
- Science Electives at Redwood HS - For students attending Redwood High School, the Science Department has expanded their offerings and provide students with a foundation which would prepare them for advanced programs such as Bio-Medicine or other cutting-edge options. Once students have completed basic Science requirements, there are offerings in AP Chemistry and Biology, Honors Bio-Med, and students may conduct their own Science Research with a faculty advisor.
- Team Program - The Team Program is a unique district offering for high school juniors. The focus is academic and experiential and students are challenged through the curriculum and through the wilderness and adventure program that is a facet of this experience. The goal of the program is to introduce students to community service and career exploration opportunities alongside outdoor adventure and leadership.
