Chalk Talk: Choosing a Tutor
For parents who are considering finding a tutor for their child, there are a few thoughts to guide the process. First, tutors are equally intended for struggling, average and accelerated students. Tutors can work with students to master subject learning during a school year, or have a more targeted focus, such as working on writing or application essays. For younger students, tutors can help establish learning strategies that will be in use throughout their education. For older students, tutors can help them understand some of the more challenging concepts within their subjects. Finally, the right tutor, one that your child enjoys working with, can help a child develop a mentoring, role model, type relationship, that will have countless benefits for years to come.
