Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Croydon District Curriculum
In conformance with national and state standards, Bristol Township School District evaluates the progress being made by their students through PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessment) and Keystone tests on core subjects at prescribed and appropriate grade levels. This information is used to understand if students are proficient in Core subjects and, where they are not, can be indicators to help students improve.
By the time students reach high school, they are ready to specialize their electives to interests they have. Students are offered Advanced Placement and Honors courses to better prepare them for college. Students are also offered electives in such areas as the arts, music, technology education, world languages, and many more as they continue taking core and required courses through graduation at appropriate difficulty levels. Graduating students also are expected to complete a community service requirement and present work related to their activities to faculty advisors.

Chalk Talk: The Importance of Science and Technology Awareness
With the use of cell phones, smart phones, laptop computers, high definition TVs and other technological innovations, it can still be taken for granted where this knowledge comes from. Students are becoming more and more reliant on technology, yet it is still imperative that they understand where that technology comes from and how it is discovered and created. Also, connecting these advents to the historical changes brings on a whole other angle of interdisciplinary thought. This background can give students insight into career possibilities and the importance of science and technology studies and education. Students who are exposed to the real world applications of science, math and technology are better equipped to make decisions in their studies to pursue these careers should they be interested. They will also be more able to appreciate the work that has been done and equipped with the knowledge to build upon that foundation.
