Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Cutler Bay District Curriculum
The elementary Language Arts program teaches students how to read different types of literature, how to write, how to study words, how to listen, speak, and view information, and how to take tests. Students learn to find important details in literature, guess what words mean based on context, and use research materials. Upon graduation, students know how to read a variety of literature, think of creative topics for compositions, make oral presentations, and determine the accuracy of information.
In Mathematics, students learn different ways of representing numbers, ways of solving problems, methods of measurement, use of graphs, and techniques for collecting data. Middle school students learn fractions, decimals, percents, scientific notation, surface area, volume, angles, graphs, linear relationships, and histograms. High school students continue their math learning through algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, statistics, and analysis of functions.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!

Chalk Talk: The Importance of Breakfast Before School
A balanced breakfast can help students perform better in school. Complex carbohydrates like whole-grain toast or cereal provide a steady stream of energy. Proteins like eggs or cheese provide energy and building abilities for cells. Fruit provides essential vitamins that keep the student healthy. Eating breakfast can also help student focus and eliminate behavioral issues. When one feels good, one is able to behave well. Eating a balanced breakfast also leads to better food choices for the rest of the day because the body is not trying to satisfy cravings.
