Chalk Talk: School Newsletters

As school begins, or may have started for some, learning about the latest school news can be really important for you and your children. Bus routes, school bell times, lunch menus, before and after school care, upcoming curriculum nights or school programs – all may be important for you and your children to know about. Schools usually keep families informed with weekly or bi-weekly newsletters. In the past, these forms of communication have been sent home with your child in their homework folder or possibly mailed directly from your child’s school. Now, and maybe in recent years, schools are turning to electric formats – an email blast to all school families that includes the latest and upcoming news for your child’s school. If you’re still waiting for that paper newsletter to come home, you may not see it – and that isn’t because your child forgot to bring it home. Make sure to send or give your email to your child’s teacher or share with the school so that you’re not missing out on possible information for you and your family.
