Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Diamond Bar District Curriculum

Students math education is framed around topics of number sense, geometry and measurement, data analysis, and algebraic operations. In the Sciences, students learn the process-oriented thinking skills inherent to the subject while being introduced to topics in earth and environmental science, physics, chemistry and biology. The framework for Language Arts requires that students develop a number of strategies for reading and comprehension, writing with a process and for different purposes and to use critical thinking like analysis and interpretation.

The content that students master on a grade-by-grade basis enables them to succeed with the coursework ahead of them. Statewide assessments in core subjects have been designed to ensure that all students are meeting these expectations and are prepared for their next grade.
