The East Cleveland City School District is dedicated to providing a top-notch education to all students. Educating Our Parents: Understanding the East Cleveland District Curriculum
The science standards in East Cleveland include elementary school studies that focus on attaining the basic scientific knowledge and skills required for scientific inquiry. Students learn how to observe their environment and record data. Learners are introduced to motion and its underlying concepts as well. Students examine the life cycles of organisms, and study the relationship between an organism’s environment and their physical and behavioral traits. Forms of energy are studied, including solar, wind power, and other renewable sources.
Students also participate in a physical education curriculum that prepares them to be physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy young adults. The wellness component of the curriculum helps students devise a better understanding of health, the role of exercise and regular physical activity in one’s overall health, and the role that healthy relationships can have on one’s mental wellbeing. Students also learn effective ways to stay fit, including devising an exercise and nutrition plan.

- Music Program Facilitates Faster Mastery - The East Cleveland City Schools has implemented the Suzuki Music Instruction method of teaching music. The program uses individualized instruction, home practice, and performance to help students master their instruments faster.
