Edgewater Park District and Curriculum

The mission of the local school districts is to provide an educational foundation for its students that will actualize their unique potential. To achieve that end, students are taught to work independently, apply problem-solving strategies, make effective use of technology, and develop professionalism and citizenship. Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Edgewater Park District Curriculum

The language arts curriculum of brings together the newly adopted Common Core and New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards. Covering the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, the language arts curriculum provides a sequential framework for students to build their knowledge and skills. The curriculum is integrated with history and social studies to integrate literacy into other areas of learning. The science curriculum was developed to reflect up-to-date, research-based scientific practice. Through hands-on, student-centered instruction, students are engaged because they learn by doing.

This philosophy is one that aligns with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. The curricular review process that ensures timely curriculum involves four phases: studying and collecting data on the current curriculum and practices, planning out strategies to improve the existing curriculum, implementing the improvement plan in accordance with a timeline, and reviewing and analyzing the whole process.

  • BCHS Clubs & Activities - Burlington City High School offers a wide selection of extracurricular activities for their students. Options include student council, Future Business Leaders of America, Drama Club, Jazz Ensemble, and many other interest-based groups.

Children tend to look to the adults in their lives to judge if a situation is safe. Just by being honest and comfortable with who you are will let your children know they can do the same.
