Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Edina District Curriculum
A major focus of the whole curriculum is literacy and mathematics as these subjects help student learning in all areas. Literacy, communication and problem-solving are all emphasized in their respective subjects. Technology is integrated throughout the Edina Public Schools curriculum. Video conferencing and cloud computing bring classroom themes to life by supporting in-class projects. Technology Education, Applied Science and Video Production classes enhance digital learning.
Additional instructional support is offered through the Success Center as well as through a Gifted program and Special Education department. Differentiated learning, taking into consideration the individual skill set of each student, is fundamental to the Edina Public Schools. Classes range in variety such as Photography, Japanese, and International Foods in order to expose students to a wide range of topics.

Keeping Informed: Recent Edina Educational News
- K12Inc. Graduates Record Number of Students - The online K-12 course provider has announced they have graduated a record number of students. Over 4,000 students from across the nation graduated through K12Inc. K12Inc. works with public and charter schools to provide blended learning options.
- WISE Guys - The WISE Guys Program is designed for students in the fourth and fifth grade within the district. The program offers activities that will help students engage with their academic learning but in a fun atmosphere. There is also mentoring and group projects for students to work on.
- Success Center - The Success Center is for district students in grades 1-8 to provide enhanced educational opportunities. In the elementary schools, the enrichment is provided within the same school that the child attends. Once a student reaches middle school, the program is offered at different locations in the district which students attend afterschool.
