Chalk Talk: Organizational Tips for Students

Academic success is more attainable than most people realize – and often rests on mastering organizational skills as a prerequisite to learning. What follows are some valuable tips for getting and staying organized. Create a quiet study area within your home and schedule a regular study time. Make a calendar of assignments – and hang it where you can see it to remind you of pending work and when its due. Use a student assignment book. Take a few minutes each day to write down what was accomplished in class – a type of ‘school diary’. This is an excellent resource for staying on top of school work. And, make lists – even daily – of tasks to complete.
