Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Elkton District Curriculum
In Mathematics, the students learn place value in the beginning grades. The knowledge of place value sets the foundation for more complicated ideas, like the multiplication and division of multiple integers. The students in grade 2 acquire skill in the gravity of ones, tens, and hundreds, and how to borrow from the larger numerals to give to the smaller one sin order to solve addition and subtraction matters.
In English Language Arts, the students, through reading fiction chronicles, learn figurative phraseology, such as personification, metaphors, similes, and alliteration. They read a large set of tales that incorporate these kinds of figurative language and master identifying each type through teachers’ lessons and tasks. The learners also are urged to talk over the value of the figurative language and what the expressions may symbolize, and what the writer is attempting to make known to the readers.

As students think about the type of work and work environment they would like to do, thinking outside the box and combining interests can often bring rise to a satisfying career. For instance, those with instructional technology specialist certifications can become technology coordinators in schools. This type of program can help future teachers be prepared for 21st century instruction, as they learn how to use and implement a variety of technologies in educational settings. Finally, this can be a stepping stone , as students may wish to later obtain advanced degrees (graduate and doctoral) in instructional technology, allowing them to oversee entire school districts’ technology plans, teach technology courses in both K-12 and higher education settings, and work in instructional technology departments at universities. With just a little more work, teachers can potentially get a lot more out of their careers.
