Chalk Talk: Success on the SAT

Taking the SAT is a huge undertaking and one that can cause a lot of stress and anxiety. A lot rides on SAT scores, so performing at their highest level is important for students. There are a number of strategies students can use to be more successful on the SAT. First, take practice tests and take them over and over. The more students engage in the material and the manner in which it’s constructed, the more comfortable they will be on test day. There are hundreds of books, guides and online resources that can help students prepare. Second, students need to ensure that they get a good night’s sleep the night before the test. This may be difficult with nerves running high, but students who are sleep-deprived will not perform at their best. Ensuring they have a good breakfast the morning of the test will also help keep their brains on top of the game.
