Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Fond du Lac District Curriculum

Curriculum at the Fond du Lac School District is divided into groups depending on the subject. In math, kindergarten through second grade are grouped under the same umbrella. Students use the same texts which focus on the skills necessary for operational sense, algebraic abilities, geometric awareness, laying the foundation for advanced math. The language arts program covers in elementary and middle school focuses on reading, writing, and speaking.

World language courses are offered for all students seventh grade and above. Seventh graders get an exploratory introduction into the world of language learning, then are free to choose which language they wish to pursue. The Fond du Lac School district offers four years of Spanish, French, and German. These course start with basic foreign language concepts, then work their way up to advanced foreign literature, writing, and communications courses.

Keeping Informed: Recent Fond du Lac Educational News

  • Networking Night - Theisen Middle School in the Fond du Lac School District held a parent networking night recently featuring the topic of cyber security. Police Detective Brown from the Fond du Lac Police Department gave a presentation in the middle school gym informing parents on good ways to secure their children’s technological equipment and social media pages.
  • Rosenow Media Classes - Media classes are now being offered at Fond du Lac’s Rosenow Elementary School. All students from kindergarten through grade five will gain technological literary skills once a week in their media classes.
  • PBIS Promotes Better Behavior - Teachers and parents at Roberts Elementary School in Fond du Lac are taking student behavior seriously. The school issued a report to all staff, families, and legal guardians explaining Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is designed to unify disciplinary procedures and foster full communication between the school and families.
