Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Galt District Curriculum

In Language Arts, the framework details the literacy and communication skills that students learn about. Beyond reading strategies for comprehension, strategies for analyzing information are also taught. Writing is focused on and students develop the ability to write persuasively and informatively. The Math curriculum provides the framework for developing problem-solving skills in all topics of math. In the Sciences, the major principles, content and concept knowledge, and skill sets of scientific inquiry are described.

As students move into more complex programs that offer a specific subject-area focus, the curriculum explains the goals for the program and what knowledge students will be expected to master.
