An assistant principal lends a huge helping hand to the head principal of a school. Some larger schools have several assistant principals, because a head principal simply cannot do it all. An assistant principal is usually in charge of a few very vital aspects of a school, such as testing coordination, technology initiatives, attendance or behavior implementation. Schools over a certain number of students, as determined by the school district, must employ an assistant principal to help the school run smoothly.
