Located in Burlington, CT, Regional School District #10 operates 4 schools including two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Regional School District #10 services the town of Harwinton, CT as well. Learning experiences provide real-world learning both in and outside the classroom. Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Harwinton District Curriculum

Regional School District #10 operates under the Common Core State Standards in mathematics and language arts. CCSS works to help prepare Regional School District #10 students for success in a global economy and provide them with higher-level skills. Students will be able to apply knowledge and problem-solve upon completion from high school. Regional District 10 is committed to providing and ensuring college and career readiness in the 21st century for its students.

The district in the areas of information technology, music, art, wellness, reading, writing, social studies, science, math, speaking and listening also provides Elementary Benchmarks. For the CCSS English/Language Arts (ELA) standards, reading, writing, speaking, and listening are the focus with informational texts being introduced as grade progress. Research skills are promoted. For K-8 Math, the standards focus on deep understanding and fluency. Solutions, problem solving, and real world situations are presented. For grades 9-12, students use statistics and real world situations to solve problems and fully understand problems and concepts.

  • New Play Equipment at Lake Garda Elementary - Lake Garda Elementary has a brand new playscape this year! Pre-K and Kindergarten students now have an age-appropriate play structure to keep them busy with lots of jumping and climbing for years to come.
  • New Initiatives for a New School Year - Superintendent Beitman has welcomed back students this fall and is looking forward to another great school year. With several projects completed over the summer, Region 10 looks forward to educating the residents of Burlington and Harwinton.
  • District Graduates Post-Secondary Plans - The class of 2014 is off to a very bright future! 219 graduated and 153 are attending 4-year colleges, 38 are attending 2-year school, and 3 are attending specialty schools. The remaining are entering the work force, military or have alternate plans!
