In English Language Arts, the students are taught to show understanding of the different conventions of the language, such as with grammar and usage when speaking and writing. The students also must master how to use irregular plural nouns and regular plural nouns, as well as both types of verbs. Reading comprehension is taught to build analytic and critical reading skills.
In the learning of Math, standards in operations and algebra include the use of the four main operations in whole numbered problem solving and to become more familiar with multiples and factors. The students are also expected to master patterning, as they must generate and analyze varying difficulties of patterns. Chalk Talk: The Role of the Resource Officer
Many schools, particularly at the high school level, have resource officers. They are usually county or city police officers that are positioned at the school to send a message of safety to the students and faculty. The resource officer is there to keep order among the students and just generally to keep a watchful eye over the school. Many students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members are thankful for their school’s resource officers!
