Chalk Talk: Applying to College

Applying for college, university, or other secondary education should begin before a student’s senior begins. Grades play a major role as well as extra-curricular activities such as sports, clubs, volunteering, and hobbies. These components of a student’s education should begin early (if not day one) in their education path. Financing education is extremely important. One important step is researching and applying early for grants and scholarships. Many scholarships require work from the student to prove to the group providing the funds that the student is truly interested in furthering their future.
