Studies also show that it is a great activity to reduce stress and improve one’s immune system. Students that volunteer report improved self-esteem as well. By improving the lives of others, children are able to feel a sense of accomplishment and improved self-worth. Lots of learning takes place during volunteer activities. Students can learn new skills, learn about the community in which they live, and even find out things about themselves that they did not know.
