Fountain Lake Elementary School has PreK-4th grade students and maintains excellent communication with parents through monthly newsletters from the principal. Highlights of the newsletters include information about Parent Math Night, Fountain Lake Elementary Terrific Kids Awards, Striking Excellence Awards, and student safety and enrichment classes.

The Cutter Morning Star School District services about six hundred Hot Springs students in two schools, Cutter-Morning Star Elementary School for students in grades Pre-K-6th grade, and Cutter-Morning Star High School for students in 7th-12th grades. The District has submitted a Technology Plan to the Arkansas Department of Education with the goals of using technology to communicate with parents, providing online computerized assessments, creating mobile computer labs, becoming a wireless campus, rebuilding the website, improving teacher training, and organizing a paperless District.

Hot Springs District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

All four of the school districts that serve students in Hot Springs, Arkansas, are supported by the Arkansas Department of Education. Providing curriculum guidelines, administering mandatory assessments, and monitoring student achievement are all functions of the Arkansas Department of Education. Hot Springs School District has over three thousand five hundred students in seven schools. The four elementary schools are all magnet schools and each has a different focus. Gardner is a Math, Science, and Technology Magnet School. Langston is an Aerospace and Environmental Magnet. Oaklawn is a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School. Park is a Primary Years Programme and International Baccalaureate Magnet School. Parents have the opportunity to choose an elementary school with a focus that interests their child. Hot Springs School District also has an intermediate school for students in grades 5-6 and a middle school for students in grades 7-8. Both schools provide the Middle Years Programme and are International Baccalaureate Magnet Schools. Hot Springs High School has about seven hundred and fifty students, is for students in grades 9-12, and continues the International Baccalaureate Program.

Lakeside School District has over three thousand students in five schools that provide instruction in small group clusters: Lakeside Primary School, Lakeside Intermediate School, Lakeside Middle School, Lakeside Junior High School, and Lakeside High School. These small group clusters allow Lakeside School District to provide focused instruction on each school site. The Primary, intermediate, and Middle Schools have extensive handbooks that provide invaluable information to both students and parents regarding Lakeside School District’s policies, expectations, and regulations. The Junior High and High School have both handbooks and course catalogs that specify required and elective courses that are available to students.

We currently cover the following Hot Springs-area school districts: Cutter Morning Star Public Schools, Fountain Lake School District, Hot Springs School District and Lakeside School District.

It is important that children have a well-rounded education that includes art and music. Although schools emphasize reading, mathematics, and writing, research shows that children who participate in the arts do better in school. There are many ways that you can support your child's appreciation of the arts: Keep art materials available in your home and display your child's projects. Keep art appreciation creative with a variety of activities. Listen to many different types of music with your child. Watch television programs about art, music, dance, and other art forms with your child. Attend art activities that are appropriate for young artists with your child. Visit museums in your area and discuss art with your child during these visits. Enroll your child in community art classes. And, be a good role model by showing your appreciation for art to your child.
