Ingersoll District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The local schools use a curriculum which is designed to build student learning by laying out the progression of skills and content knowledge that students will acquire each year in each subject. The strands of learning within each subject stay the same from kindergarten through grade 12 and teachers introduce increasingly complex topics each year. With a curriculum that is 21st century-focused and which prepares students for the rigors of college and career, graduates have all the tools they need to be successful and productive members of society. They will have experienced using technology and innovating solutions with both technological and collaborative skills. They will also participate in community service to develop skills they will use in both their community and professional endeavors.

We currently cover the following Ingersoll-area school districts: London District Catholic School Board and Thames Valley District School Board.

Chalk Talk: How Can a Writing Tutor Help My Child?

A tutor can benefit a student in many ways; writing is one area in which the individualized instruction can be extremely useful. Many students lack confidence in their ability to write, however it is important to remember that Rome wasn't built in a day. Writing is a process, it is individualized, and best when aided by targeted reading and discussion. This can help broaden the thoughts which a writer will take to their essay and can be accomplished through a tutoring experience focused on the development of writing skills.
