Chalk Talk: Choosing a College

Choosing a college can be both exciting and stressful. There are many factors to consider: price, reputation, location, and degree programs offered. Here are a few things to consider when choosing, or helping someone else choose a college or university: Examine your own values and beliefs. Make sure you pick a school that aligns with those values. Assess your strengths, weaknesses and reasons for going to college. Make sure that you like the college's culture. Know that a prestigious college might not be a better fit for you than a lesser-known one. Finally, do your research. This means spending at least a few hours on campus and doing internet research about degree programs, activities and services they offer.
