Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Jamestown District Curriculum

The Jamestown Public School District's Mathematics curriculum is focused on a core set of standards for achieving academic excellence. Initial instruction teaches students to use mathematics in problem solving situations and for diverse quantitative measurements. Students are taught to use mathematics as a tool for developing sound reasoning and critical thinking skills. The overall mathematics curriculum will enhance students' abilities to work precisely and strategically.

The Science curriculum reinforces the basic principles of life, earth and space, and physical science through in-class demonstrations and hands-on activities. Students are encouraged to learn through their ability to ask specific and pertinent questions. The curriculum focuses on all aspects of the research process by demonstrating proper documentation techniques, credible source utilization, and application of basic principles.

Jamestown District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The Jamestown Public School District aims to “inspire and empower all students to develop to their full potential through a unified effort of students, parents, teachers, staff, administration, and citizens in a secure, respectful and enjoyable learning environment.” The District School Improvement Council (DSIC) consistently meets with parents, teachers, and community leaders to access schools in the area and present both accomplishments and goals. Students are evaluated at least twice annually by participation in Northwest Evaluation Association’s Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing.

We currently cover the following Jamestown-area school districts: Jamestown Public Schools.
