Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Laguna Hills District Curriculum

The Common Core Standards provides a general subject overview and then details the knowledge essential to these areas. In Math, students are instructed in numerical operations, algebraic operations, geometry and measurement, and statistics and probability so that their skills unfold on a yearly basis. All topics have specific grade-level expectations specifically designated for students to meet.

In English/Language Arts, the subject is organized around reading strategies for the comprehension of literary and informational texts, writing and revising processes, listening thoughtfully, and speaking with clarity. The curriculum frameworks offer a standard-based approach; this approach is supported by research indicating that establishing clear, measurable and high standards for learning produces the best possible outcomes.

Contact our Academic Directors Today at 1-877-545-7737 to Discuss your Child's Strengths and Areas for Improvement.

Laguna Hills District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The students in Laguna Hills are taught under the system devised and laid out in the Common Core Standards for Math and English/Language Arts. For other subjects like the Sciences, Languages, and History there are state developed curricular frameworks. The curriculum lays out the expected outcomes for students within each subject at each grade and statewide testing is designed to measure how students are meeting these expectations.

We currently cover the following Laguna Hills-area school district: Saddleback Valley Unified School District.
