We currently cover the following Lebanon-area school district: Lebanon School District.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Lebanon District Curriculum

The Lebanon School District is unique in that it offers options for students from traditional classroom instruction to online computer programs in various combinations. In addition, high-achieving students can choose from traditional Advanced Placement and Honors courses to attending college and high school at the same time. A goal of the curriculum is to see students able to make connections between areas of learning and the additional programs help foster that experience.

Schools in the Lebanon School District are part of many innovative programs in Reading and Mathematics. Students in elementary schools select goals they would like to meet by the end of the year, and meet or exceed state standards consistently. The middle school was selected as part of a pilot program to teach literacy skills in all areas of the curriculum. Teachers and students have worked together to develop this program, which integrates topics related to math, art, reading/writing/listening/speaking, and the sciences.

Chalk Talk: High School and College at the Same Time?

Students can combine high school and college in many innovative programs across the United States. It is a new way for students to get a jump start on college. School districts in many states offer this program, and students either attend classes with other adult learners or study online. By taking college classes while they are still in high school, students often are able to complete their Associate's degree at a community college at the same time as they are awarded a high school diploma, and can transfer to a four-year college with their prerequisites already completed.
