Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Livingston District Curriculum

In Language Arts, the focus is on the development of language and vocabulary skills, reading strategies for literature and non-fiction, writing to persuade, explain or tell a story, and other communication skills which students use daily. Student learning in Math allows them to gain a number of different problem-solving strategies such as using algebraic equations and geometric proofs. These strategies support learning in the fields of science, engineering and technology in a number of ways.

In the Sciences, teachers are able to create original lessons which explore the principles and processes of scientific research. The technology which is used in the schools has also become a part of the curriculum and is integrated throughout subjects so that students have opportunities to use technology to create and are able to create technology.
