Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Loomis District Curriculum

The skills of numeracy, algebra, geometry and data analysis are developed through the math framework for learning. In the Sciences, students learn about the skills and major principles of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology. In Language Arts, students develop comprehension skills and strategies for clear writing, they learn to read both literary and informational texts, and develop other modes of personal expression.

As students take more advanced and specialized classes, the curriculum will describe the learning expectations, the ways in which content will be integrated into core subjects, and any instructional strategies that may be relied upon. Additional opportunities for project-based or experiential learning will also be detailed.
