Meadville District and Curriculum
The Crawford Central School District adheres closely to the Pennsylvania Core State Standards in English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students are assessed on various benchmarks at different points during the school year. Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Meadville District Curriculum
The curriculum has a strong emphasis in the key areas of Reading and Mathematics. Both subjects are taught to aid in learning in all subjects and for real world applications. For example, one aspect of reading across content areas is for students to be able to comprehend headings and sub-headings within a chapter, helping them understand the main point and supporting details they need to recognize. By middle and high school, students build upon basic skills from elementary school to enhance learning in a variety of subject areas. The varied curriculum in United States and World History gives students preparation to interpret world events and opportunities to conduct historical research. The goals of the Science classes are to equip students with the processes of scientific inquiry to study chemistry, physics, and biology at a college level by teaching the conceptual basis for major scientific principles.

- Musicians Unite in High School Concert - Students from high schools in the Meadville area will perform together in a music concert in February. Bands will present a varied program of music as part of the area festival, and they will be directed by leaders from the local university.
- Students Wins at Pennsylvania Farm Show - Two Meadville students have won farm competitions with the cattle they raise. They take time to care for and raise their prizewinning heifers, spending hours each day with them, getting them ready to compete in local shows.

This is similar to looking at a map and planning a trip before actually talking it, which is a good way to get to the desired destination.
