Chalk Talk: How to Set Up a Study Area in Your Home
A long day at school can make coming home to do even more work seem like a daunting chore for students. That’s why it is important for parents to create an area in the home specifically designed for this purpose. Find a quiet area of the house free of distractions such as TV, radio, and video games. Make sure the area has adequate lighting and space for students to spread out any necessary books, computers, or papers. Having a stash of school supplies nearby will also come in handy so students do not have to keep getting up and looking for the materials they need. Lastly, try to create this space in an area of your home that is easily seen by you the parent which will help keep students on task. With the right atmosphere and supplies, completing homework can be more enjoyable and less of a chore.
