Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Millersville District Curriculum
The fundamentals begin with a focus on literacy in reading and writing as well as a firm grasp of numeration at specific grade levels. The middle school students have a system that operates around the team approach so that curriculum is presented according to state standards within a team of Core subject teachers. In this way, teachers are able to work with the same students and provide learning plans in cooperation with the student’s other teachers. This provides middle school students with a more “small school” feel that can provide the support that they need.
High school students are asked to consider elective courses based on their career pathways. Students may also take advanced courses in Core subjects to better prepare them for college if that is their goal. Students have a block schedule which allows for more concentrated time in the classroom which can lead to more efficient learning in keeping with the curriculum.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!

Chalk Talk: What a Good Tutor Can Do for You
Are you struggling in a class? Have you talked to your teacher and still are so confused and have no idea where to begin? A tutor may be able to help you. A good tutor can see where you are and help to explain concepts in different ways so that you can better understand. A tutor can often take that extra time to work with you problem by problem until you can get it right. A good tutor will not do your work for you, but will rather empower you to do it on your own and give you encouragement along the way. A good tutor is knowledgeable in the area you struggle with and has many tricks up their sleeve to help you understand what has never made sense to you before. Sometimes you can find tutors at your school. Some teachers provide this in after school help sessions. Some teachers can provide this during your lunch time as well. There are also tutoring companies that may be able to help as well, or even individual tutors that have gone through the same class.
