Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Milton District Curriculum
As part of the marketing, management, and entrepreneurship curriculum, Milton’s middle school students learn about basic economic principles. Students learn about economic decision making in the context of needs and wants. The present and future consequences of economic decisions are evaluated as well. The concept of cost is explored, with students identifying the different types of costs associated with various economic decisions. Learners also analyze how resources are distributed amongst traditional, market, and command economies. Supply and demand issues, including scarcity, are discussed as well.
High school music students have the opportunity to develop skills related to choral music performance. Students learn the technical aspects of singing, including accuracy in pitch, tone, and rhythm. Students likewise learn the expressive nature of performance, acquiring the skills needed to effectively engage an audience while performing on stage. High school music students develop the skills needed to sing with or without an accompaniment. They also learn how to read music and perform it according to the manner in which the director is leading them.

SchoolTutoring has played an important role in improving our son’s confidence and attitude towards school. His grades have also improved steadily throughout the school year.
My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
Our daughter, a first grader, struggled with basic reading and handwriting. When she began with SchoolTutoring she was almost a year behind her class. Within a year of being enrolled, she is reading above her grade level and has the confidence to match.

Chalk Talk: Importance of Gifted Programs
Students that demonstrate above-average academic abilities need to be challenged in order to fully develop their skills. If not, gifted students run the risk of getting bored in class. Gifted and Talented programs keep learners engaged in education by giving them advanced opportunities for learning. These programs are designed to challenge students according to their ability level, not their age. As a result, gifted programs can represent an excellent opportunity for students to build highly advanced skills. These programs often take the form of testing out of classes, undertaking accelerated coursework, skipping a grade, or attending a specialized program for gifted students. These programs are crucial in ensuring that students are challenged and do not become bored in their studies.
