Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Moultrie District Curriculum

The curriculum allows students to extend critical thinking and problem solving abilities to real-world activities, increasing their interest and awareness of the world around them. Students learn to analyze how culture styles and universal themes relate to various concepts found in literature. The literature they read has multiple themes and they determine which theme is major, what forms of imagery are useful and continue gaining knowledge.

Colquitt County School System prides its schools on an individualized instructional approach. Students’ individual needs are considered and taught towards in developing each student at every grade level. At each school, the student-to-teacher ratio is 25:1, giving students the personal attention needed for successful learning and development as students progress through their schooling. Chalk Talk: Learning to Swim

During the summer, most children may want to be in or around a pool. Play dates at the pool and swim team practice become the topic of conversation in many neighborhoods. If swimming ability and pool safety of your child is a concern of yours, seeking out someone or someplace for swim lessons can benefit you and your child in many ways. Your child may not want to “learn” anything once school is out. Or may feel they swim well enough or don’t seem interested in the pool as much as other children. However, as the summer progresses, the pool may be the most popular activity. Coaches and swim facilities can be found in many places, some coaches may even be available to teach lessons at your neighborhood pool. If your child hesitates to “learn” something new or improve their swimming ability, why not take the lessons with them? Or find some of their friends that are now on the swim team, to help encourage your child to join.
