Chalk Talk: Tips for Taking the SAT

The SAT is an important test for determining college admittance. As such, students place a lot of pressure on themselves to get the best score they possibly can. If your child is preparing to take the SAT, offer them these suggestions to help improve their performance. First, taking the SAT subject tests at the end of content-heavy courses like biology or a foreign language will be advantageous as the content is still at the forefront of their mind. Second, when taking the test, always answer the easiest questions first. Doing so allows test-takers to get into a good rhythm and boosts their confidence. Lastly, invest in some practice tests for your child. Familiarizing themselves with the style and format of questions will help ensure they know what to expect when test day comes.
