Chalk Talk: Last Month of Summer

By August, children and parents may be getting antsy for some sort of routine. Camps may be ending, travels may include one more family trip and talk of school registration or orientations becomes more of a common topic. The last few weeks of summer can be bittersweet for the whole family – consider planning together a special activity the whole family can look forward as the summer ends. Including your children or teens in the planning process will add to the enjoyment of the activity. Consider a local place the family hasn’t been to or hasn’t been to in a while or a family activity you once all did together but have since not made time for it. You can also plan a weekly activity or small drive somewhere close in creating more enjoyment as the summer winds down. The time spent with together will be appreciated as the routine of school comes upon you quickly.
