Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Mundy Township District Curriculum

The English curriculum at Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools aids the students in preparing and presenting presentation. Whether for a written or an oral assignment, the students begin with learning skills to find topics and research surrounding topics that interest them. They then learn to take this material and summarize it while transforming it into a form that interests the audience and still has the student’s voice. These skills will be helpful throughout the students’ academic and professional lives.

The Science curriculum at Mundy Township Schools help the students discover the world which surrounds them. Included in their education are biology, chemistry, physics, ecology, earth science and more advanced courses in these fields. Students learn how to design and conduct experiments, track their observations, and present their scientific observations and discoveries. Additionally, the development of scientific literacy is emphasized. Throughout their education, students will discover opportunities to learn in the lab, classroom and in the field.

Mundy Township District Curriculum Used in Our In-Home Tutoring Programs

The Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools follow the curriculum set forth by the Michigan Department of Education. The curriculum provides frameworks for each subject area that delineate the major topics and the skills and knowledge within each that students should be learning each year. All students are expected to meet the learning standards in their core subjects. To accomplish this, the district has developed appropriate supports that meet or exceed state and national standards and enable all children to achieve the learning goals. Students are also encouraged to participate in extracurricular programs to develop their own interests.

Chalk Talk: Arts in Education

Whether your child enjoys to draw and paint, or has an unknown talent for music and musical instruments, your school's arts program is as important in expanding your child's horizon and cultivating expression in ways that mathematics or English cannot possibly offer. This is why when choosing the best school for your child, you must also examine their arts curriculum, and ensure that your child's school provides adequate attention to all aspects of your child's growth into an accomplished adult. Students who study music have a better understanding of proportional math and fractions. Having the chance to use creativity helps students develop their own creative thinking and enjoy watching an idea come to life.
