Nebraska City District and Curriculum

Nebraska City Schools is a data-driven school system that provides all students with a quality education, as is shown in the recent accreditation of all schools in the system. This data-driven school system uses assessment results to drive instruction and to check the mastery of student learning on a regular basis. We currently cover the following Nebraska City-area school district: Nebraska City Public Schools.

Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Nebraska City District Curriculum

In the K-12 Mathematics coursework, the concepts that are taught consist of the mastery of all aspects of the number system, such as the representation and demonstration of the complex relationships between the rational numbers (positive) that are in the base-ten numerical system. Comparing and ordering numbers and decimals are objectives focused on in the number sense category.

During a students’ schooling in Reading, they are taught many concepts, which include the grasping of the many strategies of comprehension. Extracting meaning and making sense out of text using schema and being an active reader is very important to master before they enter the upper grades where the reading becomes more challenging. Being able to understand that the author has a purpose for writing, and being able to recognize that purpose is very important as well, as the purpose for writing the text can influence the meaning.

Chalk Talk: Bringing the Community Together with Art

Art is so important in the school system. Students need a chance to explore different avenues and learn about creativity. Fine Arts give the students this outlet for expression and to showcase their talent. Artistic displays in the school board office, in the lobbies of the schools around the district, or even around the community not only give a certain eye appeal to the people, but give the students a sense of completion and success!
