The foundation in communication and literacy skills that students get in their Language Arts courses serves to support learning across the curriculum. The emphasis on reading multiple genres and being able to write for multiple purposes is used in all other classes a student takes. In addition, there is a focus on language development.

The fundamentals of Math which students learn details skills for problem-solving in all facets of mathematical thought and support learning in science, engineering and technology. The Science framework also details the skills for scientific problem-solving and inquiry and enhance students ability to take on more difficult and technical subjects.
