Educating Our Parents: Understanding the North Madison District Curriculum

The world languages curriculum in North Madison introduces children to various aspects of learning a new language. In middle school, students learn how to derive meaning of messages by listening to other speak and by reading. With a focus on comprehension, learners explore information in videos, podcasts, informational texts, and oral stories. Students practice their language skills in an interpersonal mode by interacting with one another. The exchange of statements, requests, ideas, and other conversational elements allows students to improve upon their speaking skills.
