Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Parkersburg District Curriculum

The elementary education program of Parkersburg school follows a traditional academic curriculum and is aligned with the West Virginia Board of Education academic standards. Students enjoy instruction in math, reading, science, language arts, social studies, physical education and health. Supplemental instruction is provided in art, general music and library. The middle school programs in Parkersburg continue core curriculum education and prepare students for the high school by focusing on the development of research and study skills.

The high school education program in Parkersburg public schools is a broad and rich collection of traditional subjects, fine arts and vocational training.
