Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Peekskill District Curriculum
The Peekskill City School District has completely implemented the New York State approved Common Core Curriculum for all grades. In English and Language Arts, students are focused on learning to read, write, listen and speak with a command of the English language. From the early grades students learn to critically analyze their reading material and to discuss and write about their understanding of the reading.
In Math, the expectation is that students will become fluent in Math and be able to apply what they learn to the real world. Bring about the ability to perform mathematic modeling is very big part of the Math curriculum. The main strands of study in Math from Kindergarten through High School is learning computation, geometry, algebra, probability, and statistics, from an elementary level to the complex. All students in New York State High Schools must pass Regents exams in English, Math, Global History, US History, and Science.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!
We are so happy with the results of your tutoring program and academic support. Homework time was such a stressful evening for the entire evening before we brought your tutors into our home. Thank you for all your help!
