Core classes, such as Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies are offered at all levels, including Honor’s classes and in the Gifted Education Program. Keeping Informed: Recent Pelham Educational News

  • Adult Education - Students and adults of Shelby County can attend various enrichment courses to further improve their education, confidence, and quality of life. The courses include sewing, baton, science using hands-on activities, technology, Martial Arts, boating safety, cooking, stained glass, landscaping, and much more. There are also enrichment activities offered at no cost for the students of the school system, and are instructed after school for many of the courses.
  • Summer Camps - Each summer, for week long intervals, summer camp is made available to all interested children. There is an assortment of learning activities in science, mathematics, reading, writing, and history. Summer fun, such as swimming and crafting are offered as well, in addition to field trips. Each summer, camp goes all day long, and the specific hours are shown on the schedule for each particular camp session. It is a wonderful way to keep the children busy and positively productive in the summertime, while spending time with their peers.
  • Edmodo - Edmodo is offered to the students, staff, family, and community members of Shelby County Schools. What is Edmodo? It is very similar to the ever popular social media site, Facebook, but for all things Shelby County Schools and community. All students and parents can message each other about events, both academic and social, and many posting are put on Edmodo about events at the school and within the community of Pelham.
