Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Pittston District Curriculum
The Pittston Area School District seeks to provide, through their curriculum and programs, an environment where students, regardless of special needs, language background and other factors, are able to become good citizens in an increasingly technological and complicated world. With this in mind, students learn about technology, citizenship, and how people interact and effectively work together from kindergarten on through their twelve years of school.
Middle and high school students have the opportunity to research many career options. They are strongly encouraged to choose a basic career pathway so that they can take courses in high school which will prepare them for their course of study or their job after high school. There are academic as well as more vocationally focused classes offered to students to allow them variety and opportunities to pursue their individual goals within the classroom and the high school setting.

My daughter was able to improve her test scores after a few months of tutoring with SchoolTutoring. However, while raising test scores is great, the real payoff is in the self-confidence that she gained.
I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank-you! My son is very impressed with his tutor and looks forward to each session. What’s particularly amazing about this is our son has never really looked forward to math or school for that matter!

Chalk Talk: How to Be Alert and Do Your Best In School
Doing your best in school may look different from someone else’s best. But there are things you can do to maximize your ability to give 100% in the things you are involved in and learning. While there are some things that are obvious, such as paying attention in class, involving yourself in discussions, doing your homework and preparing for tests, there are other things to consider as well. Taking care of yourself outside of class will greatly affect your time in class. Making sure you are getting enough exercise is one thing that can help. Another is prioritizing your time so that you get enough sleep. A third thing is making sure you are eating an appropriate amount of the right foods. Eating a junk food diet will affect you in school. Eating too little or too much will also have its affects. Eating well and at regular times is invaluable in the care of your body and performing at your best at all times.
