  • Nook Launch - Shades Valley High has received a number of Nook eReaders for the students to use. Jefferson County Schools has had several schools, including many in Pleasant Grove, receive these new technological devices. Several instructors and administrators were on hand to present the eReaders to the children and watch them engage in reading.

Chalk Talk: The Uses of eReaders

Technological devices can make reading fun. They can especially assist those who are struggling or unmotivated to read, as they are not like a typical book, but something a little different in terms of the delivery of content and text. Nooks, for example, are a great way to inspire children to read. Many apps are at their fingertips, and with the guidance of a teacher, the students can really gain educational insight into their reading.
