- Mandarin Immersion - For students in the early years of school, a Mandarin Immersion program is being developed. Currently students are accepted by a lottery system. Students who participate in language immersion programs tend to emerge bilingual.

- Arroyo Vista Children's Theater - The Arroyo Vista Middle School has a strong partnership with area parents who volunteer to help produce the plays and musicals students put on at the Children's Theater.
