Chalk Talk: How to Be an Active Student

Athletes know how important being active is in their careers. Maintaining an active lifestyle is also important for students of all ages. Students who participate in sports are reminded of this by their coaches. Students who do not participate in sports also need to be active. On nice weather days try to spend time outdoors either walking or doing a favorite activity for a set amount of time. Parents can take younger children to playgrounds and walk around to set an example to their children early on. Parents and students can also agree on a set time to do an outside activity such as badminton, catch, and basketball. Pets can also help students stay active. Play with your cat indoors or take your dog out on walks. Being physically active will help your mind stay active in school as well.
