Chalk Talk: Learning From Experience
Many times today we expect our children to learn everything they need from their teachers and their schools. Many things that should not be left for teachers to work on are things such as common sense, hygiene, empathy, values, and morality. These values should be taught at home. Children can learn all these things outside the classroom through meaningful experiences. Through interacting in their community they can be exposed to a plethora of knowledge and valuable instruction. By participating in community service or organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H they can learn life skills that will benefit them throughout their adult lives. However, the root of all learning and all development starts at home.
