Chalk Talk: The Importance of Good Communication Skills
The key to success in any endeavor is communication. Communication is more than just talking to another person. It also entails listening and watching for cues that someone gives through facial expressions and posture. Learning to read another person’s cues and actually listening to what they have to say will make you a better communicator. Written communication is another form of communication that is important for your child’s success in school and in life. Your school is striving to provide your child with a foundation of communication skills that will help him or her be successful in school and be prepared for college and a career. You can be a part of preparing your child for school by teaching good communication skills at home. Always listen to what he or she has to say and provide a model by being a good communicator yourself.
