Beyond core academics, there are also many arts programs, language learning opportunities, and community service projects for students to participate in.
We currently cover the following Safford-area school district: Safford Unified School District.
Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Safford District Curriculum
The skills of reading and writing are critical to academic success in all subjects, so the English/Language Arts curriculum is designed to provide students with the oral and written communication skills they will need to be successful in life after high school. Students also learn the critical thinking skills that will be necessary to apply learning to real life situations like conducting research and viewing media.
Mathematics skills are extremely important for being able to adequately compete in today's global world and Arizona wants students to be provided with the best skills in math and the sciences. Safford schools provide students with a curriculum that builds math skills from basic math to higher levels of math that require students to conceptualize problems and determine values. All of the academic skills learned by students are meant to prepare them for the world of college and careers that await them.

Chalk Talk: How to Get a Child Interested in History
If you are experiencing difficulty with your child about history homework you are not alone. Many kids do not see the importance of learning what happened hundreds of years ago. Get creative and do things to make history come alive. Visit museums about history and let your child enjoy the exhibits. Get them excited about the past. Tell stories about the era of history your child is studying or do some role playing. Visit an elderly person and listen to his stories. There are so many ways to get your child excited about history. Talk to your child's teacher about having a history day where students dress up in costumes that represent the era being studied or find adults to dress up and put on a short play. History can be exciting, but many kids won't get into it simply by reading a textbook.
