Educating Our Parents: Understanding the Santa Ana District Curriculum

In Math, the Common Core Standards provides descriptions of what students need to be able to do in the areas of numerical operations, algebraic functions, geometry and measurement, and data analysis. In the Sciences, the framework covers the topics of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science and technology.

In English/Language Arts the Common Core Standards is the curricular framework which describes what skills go into reading informational texts, developing a writing process and other communication skills. Schools also have program offerings like Advanced Placement, Small School Models and other Choice Programs. These programs have curriculum that describe the objectives of the courses and explain the goals for students to achieve.
