Keeping Informed: Recent Scottsboro Educational News

  • Accelerated Reader Progress - Parents are now able to check their child's progress online. By going online on the school's website, parents are able to check their student's books they have read and tested on, and where they rank. This also makes it easier on the teachers, and it is hard to report each day or week what tests were taken. All data will be stored, and parents can finally access it from home.
  • Project Tomorrow - Parental opinions are very important in a school system. Scottsboro City Schools will be participating in a national event: Speak Up. This is a research project that asks questions, gives surveys, and welcomes all parents' views about all issues of public education. This national event has received almost 3 million views from parents, students, and teachers. Initially, this enormous survey's results is communicated to school district administration, and then Speak Up shares the views with policy makers and business leaders, so changes can be made where they need be.
  • IMPACT - IMPACT is a learning center for adults and students that are wishing to earn their GED. This learning center provides basic education, college and university information, and job skill training, which includes computer courses.
